The 2026 Edenfield Lecture will feature Judge Paul B. Matey, who serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. The title of his presentation is "The American Legal Tradition." There will be a reception in the Davenport Rotunda immediately following the lecture.

This event is open to members of UGA Law community only. 

While on campus, Judge Matey is serving as the B. Avant Edenfield Jurist in Residence, a position that enables one or more Article III judges to meaningfully engage with members of the School of Law community each year. Edenfield was a longtime federal judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia who earned both his bachelor’s and law degrees from UGA.
